2009!
Happy new year! =]
2008 passed really fast and im beginning to miss it already =[
spent the last night of the year at watchnight service worshipping and giving thanks. I think its the best ending to a year, and a best starting as well. While everyone else are at countdown parties waiting to start the year with a bang and fireworks, I love spending the last and first moments in God's sanctuary being still remembering His grace. It is the people as well, spending this time with friends who are more of family =]
Watchnight service was good. Though not the usual youth hype but hymns are nice too! Sharing was very encouraging, knowing what the rest of the church has been doing and going through the past year, as well as knowing how they experienced God's grace.
Then after that we had supper downstairs, and devotion.
Very few people for stayover but we still had fun! =] Sparklers, then the guys went to play soccer while Phileo talked to us. Started asking about him and Pheobe hahahaha contents not to be disclosed but they two are so sweeeeet! =]]
After they finished soccer we came together to and played cards! Table soccer, signal, bang!
Miko was so irritating! He was Pedro so he could get his first card from the discard pile. so once i was jailed, i kept getting jailed again by him!! grr 3 times consecutively okay! hahahaha
So time passed so fast and before i could finish my 4th game of bang Evan's friend gave me a lift home =]
Yay 2008 was really good. The world has been through so much this year, the presidential elections, the bombings, the stock market crash. Singapore has been through so much too like remember the weird spate of enbloc fever at the start of the year haha. It was a tough time but we pulled through so we will continue to in 09!
Personally its been an increeedible year. Dont know how i survived but i did! Firstly, its the terrible Sec 4 year. Been so busy, remember trying to psycho myself to keep doing my work to stop the last minute stay ups, trying to keep up with chemistry and physics because nothing goes in during lessons. Really haven't had much time at home at all the whole year. EOYs was scary because it decided our entrance to hci.
Then there was art. the most amazing thing i've done?? lol seriously! I can't believe I went through all that. Its such an indescribable experience. But im really glad i went through it all, made me a tougher person =] though i really wouldn't want a second experience of that. The 'pre' is exciting, the 'during' is devastating, yet the 'post' is so 'uber-proud-you-pulled-through!!!'
really its something only GAP people understand haha =]]]
And of course there was gym. Im sorry for saying it but was really a very unpleasant time. Just sad when so many of my teammates are injured/uncommunicable, and its so difficult to fix this broken bond when nobody seems to care. Whats more the struggle with my tao, somehow everybody's tao goes down the slump in sec4 and its so difficult to get it back. Like only amanda did it. Injury was devastating, and i still had to force myself to go for trainings for responsibilities sake, though i could only watch. And then there was the power-struggle, which was such a headache to see unfold yet we couldnt really do anything to help.
Wow its been a long tiring year, but yet I have been blessed in so so so many more ways that i tend to be taken for granted. =]
402! the best class i can ask for though we aren't exactly bonded. But I think i've learnt alot from them! Being considerate, being gracious, and the fact that it doesn't matter we aren't the best at the start but just as long as we put in our best effort then we can be proud.
and in this year i got to know so many more people in the class then i did in Sec 3 =]]] as well as get to know eva rachel wingyau jas so much better =]
and theres the same old retarded bunch all the way from Sec 1, still hanging on stronger than ever! :D Im thankful for this sustained strong relationship and really really hope it never will waver.
And my most lovely teammates though we may not be strongly existing as a group, but individually they have blessed me and taught me so much. =]]]
Yay thank God for all these great friends He has granted me, helping me through school and teach me about people and life =] so truly blessed.
And I am so thankful so be able to get over my anti-social tendencies, to be able to open up so much more this year. hahahahahah! I think its so weird im saying this now. Those who know me knows that i was really anti-social la haha couldn't carry out a conversation with a stranger. As the year passed i didn't realise that i kept getting noisier until Rachel told me so, and when I could do presentations without shaking anymore haha. I guess i just really learnt to let go, to not really care that much what people thought about me because its really their perception and i just needed to be able to answer to God =]]
Its a good thing i guess, to be able to be more confident of myself, to get to know others alot more =]
And i think something really sweet was psch reunion! in a way=] my study sessions with ling, having 6i bbq, outings etc.
Then the best thing was finding a certain nattyfatty! =]] whos been so sweet =]]
Im thankful to be given so many opportunities this year to serve in church though i thought i wouldn't be up to it, though i didnt look the part at all. WAMM, youth comm even camp comm. Really opened up my world and got to know so many new people haha though it really seem like i've known them for decades.
2008 has been a blessed year. Hope the same for 2009 =] Many happy moments for all!

Dance camp day 2!
Today was fun! Had 4 hours of technical class which wasnt too tiring because there were so many people so across the floor took very long.
First stretching, then learnt positions, did all the usual exercises, then did across the floor, then choreography.
Haha im always sad when it comes to technics class cos im so suckyyyy =[ boooo=[ need to improve need to improve! but its nice to watch all the pros there. see and try to learn =]
after that we did choreography by mr dan on the spot =] Fun but very fast!
After that was lunch, super lousy packet food.
Then we went to the gym for AYG rehearsals! =] Super super fun although i still cant catch up hahahah. Its a nice feeling dancing with so many people. Really MASS dancing, and not the kiddish simple kind of dance some more! =] Im really looking forward to the mass display day itself. Would look so awesome! but first gotta get through the auditions for which i have zero confidence for, gosh.
After that each school showcased a dance each, and the Secondary schools kind of owned the jcs hahahaha! because the jcs weren't familiar with their dance haha. but hss and deyi were good really. their showmanship is very impressive =] so who cares if their techniques arent as good as the jc seniors anyway=]
We had theater production class after that. imagine a whole lecture theater of people whove been dancing from 8 to 3. hahahaa i think nothing much went into our heads.
Dance camp ended! It was a very good experience and a definite eye opener =] Though im all tired and aching but its worth it!
and i really want to improve because it feels so bad being the lousiest. improve!

Went for dance camp today and missed Happy Day in church! still very sad about it =[ but nevermind! Dance camp was fun though im dead beat now. Wobbly wobbly hahaha.
The strength of camp was huge. HCI, SRJC, NJC, HSS, DeyiSS. Sooo many people! So everywhere we danced we were hitting people along the way haha.
Alright, we were split into groups first, then to our seperate classes.
Our group did Pilates in the black box first. Pilates was tough, tested lotsa strength flexibility and perseverance. Good experience though. I think yoga and pilates are one of those very underrated activities. Because the pros make it look so easy but it is really very difficult to do it well. Especially the weird poses that look so easy but actually cant be done by normal civilians haha
Then we went to the dance studio for Fever Latino! I thought that was really fun because the instructor was so happy and she really looks like Miss Yeo hahaha! It was very energetic and we were jumping non-stop the whole time. haha really tiring but fun =] Everybody does the dance so awkwardly that you dont even care if you look super stupid haha!
Then was lunch. The food was terrible but nevermind its camp. Then we had group bonding session! haha I finally got to know my group and their names :D Played some games that finally got our group talking, then later we had a mass game with the dance. And then we all danced the friendship dance! :D it was super cute
Then we stayed in the dance studio for Alfo Brazil Jazz, which was african contemporary in simpler terms. Fun but even more tiring because he just made us dance non-stop with the music. Some of the moves were kind of awkward too but its a good new experience! :D
Last class, wushu! when we were all dead tired already. Recapped alot of stuff i used to do!=]
After that we were really all tired. Debriefed then home sweet home!!
Okay tmr is going to be an even worse day. 4 hours of technique, 3 hours of choreo and theres still a lecture at the end of the day hahahaha! Wow really dont quite look forward to the exhaustion, but it'll be fun! With so many people dancing together :)

Overall the trip was really fun! I <3 taiwan! Awesome food made by seemingly odd uncles who are pros in disguise :O
I haven't had a family trip since uhh HongKong in p3?? because the genting trip didnt count it was so boring hahah.
Really had alot of fun this trip, family bonding! mainly walked night streets with my brother wrecking our brains for presents. We caught 2 mules, 2 peas pods, 1 elmo, 1 hand puppet and my favourite warbird! hahaha :D Then we played basketball machine which was really fun but i suck hahaha.
The people in Taiwan are very nice. Especially the service staff who are very professional unlike the sulky salesgirls back here. The youngsters are very stylish and they all have crazy hair haha. quite fun to watch people there but i think i wouldnt want to live there, very vain atmosphere. Shilin night market is bugis street x10 haha
The artsy village we went to was very cute. It used to be the area where all the rich businessmen frequented to spend money. So there are little houses with chinese roof along very steep stairs. makes a really pretty picture =]
My dad got his friend to bring us around for one day. Uncle Dillon is an awesome tour guide! He like knows everything about Taiwan, its general history, history for each of the place we visited, current politics etc. haha very interesting =] I think without him the trip would have been less meaningful and we would just be blurly walking around the city area. The sightseeing, rural areas of taipei are cooler =]
Yay i really look forward to future family trips! :D

Alright holidays are ending too fast! It just zoomed past comon the last thing i remember i was rejoicing over the end of EOYs, then went to japan and had church camp then BOOM its 28th december. oh goodness time passed so fast!

oh yes its 28th! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIU WENQIANG :D and sam yong! :DD
Rachel and I kinda planned a surprise for them which failed because we couldnt buy a cake in the morning! hahahah so we got them a slice each, lit a candle, sang happy birthday and gave it to them after service in the worship hall.
and they took a photo together awww :D so sweet hahahaha

boxing day.
took a reaaally long bus ride to mind cafe@tampines safra and was late like mad haha. i got out of the house at 130, reached at like 340! and zx was super late too, but he walked to tampines safra and still reached before me. !!! loll very late people. we were supposed to meet at 2.
haha okay so we played family business but it was very slow because nobody knew the game except me. was still fun though! =] then we played this.... uh... dino game? hahahahaha which was so uber lame nvrmind haha! the next game was fun! it was called 'express it guess it' or sth. basically there were a whole range of emotions and we were supposed to pick one card and express the emotion on the card by charade, drawing or saying out a rhyme in that emotion. hahahaha it was kinda funny. there were stuff like crazy, infatuated, triumphant, flirtatious, amused. sounds easy but it really isnt hahaha never knew its so difficult to express emotions hahahaha. after that played taboo! which ended up quite fun also. it was the singaporean version of taboo so there were stuff like parking warden hahahaha and one of the taboo words for that is 'aunty'!
They went for pool and dinner after that, i went back to town to meet nat and liseah at tanglin mall. there was a fake snow party! so many kids running in the pool =]]] everytime i pass tanglin mall on the bus i wonder why the christmas tree is so ugly. but then i realised that it was made of plastic bottles! haha so cool :D
Then we went to Holland V =] my first time there and i really like the place at night. Its a bustling food street where we can just walk on the road without getting knocked down. =]] yay
We went to 2a.m. dessert bar which was at some secluded corner beside the carpark.
haha its the block upstairs.
i love the ambience there! super nice with full length windows. and theres these sofa seats where people were lying down and drinking wine eating dessert, and theres the bar seats where we were. haha its kind of disturbing that adults dressed properly were behaving like they were at home, but ah well its a place to relax adults deserve a break too =]
we ordered 2 mains and 2 sides and were super full.

Sides: fried calamari and chicken chunks.

The desserts are a total rip-off, but other than the price they are very good actually though not fantastic. i love the chocolate tart! super nice there was chocolate oozing out of the tart!

I found a thick book with a soft cover cos i couldnt find one with hardcover. so i got cardboard and cut up my brother's mega clothes from years ago and made it a hardcover! haha sad i dont have a before after picture but nvrmind =] its fun covering books with cloth =]
then i spent superrr long cutting a hole in the book with a penknife. haha now i feel kinda retarded after my dad told me i could have used a craft saw hahahaahah! nvrmind its all for the fun of it.
i wanted to hide the bear inside but it couldnt fit haha and i had to put some lame stuff inside cos i didnt have anymore time. haha sorry!

Wow i love christmas =]
Its the best holiday all year round because there is just so much love in the air. Its the time we all sheepishly sit down to attempt writing cards for each other, but along the way discover that there is so much to be thankful for in each and every of our friends, and end up loving each other so much more by the end of the card. :)
And in this joyous season I just want to tell all of you that I love you and appreciate you all so much!!
I was just worn out yesterday making making making cards, and i had to drag myself to huiying's house for stayover. Plus i haven't finished my christmas shopping so i was actually in a bad mood. But really, just stepping into the car with huiying and her mum, huiqing jiale yiyan and zhee, i just cant help it but smile from within. hahahaha most retarded bunch of people in the world =]]] like who else in this world grosses people out with her pus-filled open wound. coughhuiqingcough! and can poke fun of somebody dressed like barber-shop lamp hahajialehaha!
we reached her house at 6 and decided to watch sweeney todd!!! hahaha so much for christmas cheer yea! but it was a good movie la i think huiying and jiale agreed right! though they were so reluctant at first. then we went down for dinner! huiying's parents were having a party so we had nice catered food yea. We just had fun playing asshole taidee, poking fun at huiying and her prospective rjc bf, haha just alot of rubbish.
Once it was christmas day we all wore santa hats and went to the playground to play sparklers! haha we are mad! :D It was alot of fun though! imagine a peaceful neighbourhood in the wee hours of the morning, then a crazy bunch of people jumping at the cue of a countdown timer. haha siao! =]
went back to huiying's house, watched freaky friday, ate, watched moulin rouge then everybody fell asleep and a few people watched friends. i really enjoyed the night. what a way to spend the first few hours of christmas man! love this warm feeling. =]
And today service in church was good. =] Thank you all who gave me cards and presents. really really appreciate it. Its a warm fuzzy feeling reading all the lovely cards!
Stayed back and hanged around after church. havent had such a big gathering of youths in so long, where everybody just sat at the steps eating talking and having fun =]] we then all went into the board room and played werewolf! haha its a comforting feeling seeing everybody having so much fun together. woohoo i kinda miss those days.
after that danielle, bryan my bro and i stayed back playing signal all the way till 6! hhaah laughed like crazy. we laugh at the weirdest stuff. =] we then went for dinner, then bryan wq and i went to walk orchard =] it was floodedddddddd.
throughout the journey bryan, my bro and i talked. haha so now im quite freaked out at life. wq keeps telling me theres alot of stuff in this world i have not experieced. haha i dont know how to put it but the journey ahead just seems quite scary.
But i just feel really thankful that i am surrounded with so many great people, in church and in school. so so many nice people really=] its family everywhere.
I really thank the Lord for blessing me with all these people around. And let us just remember that Christmas is a celebration of Christ's birth. Jesus is reason for the season. And I am so thankful that God sent us a saviour. =]
Its the best holiday all year round because there is just so much love in the air. Its the time we all sheepishly sit down to attempt writing cards for each other, but along the way discover that there is so much to be thankful for in each and every of our friends, and end up loving each other so much more by the end of the card. :)
And in this joyous season I just want to tell all of you that I love you and appreciate you all so much!!
I was just worn out yesterday making making making cards, and i had to drag myself to huiying's house for stayover. Plus i haven't finished my christmas shopping so i was actually in a bad mood. But really, just stepping into the car with huiying and her mum, huiqing jiale yiyan and zhee, i just cant help it but smile from within. hahahaha most retarded bunch of people in the world =]]] like who else in this world grosses people out with her pus-filled open wound. coughhuiqingcough! and can poke fun of somebody dressed like barber-shop lamp hahajialehaha!
we reached her house at 6 and decided to watch sweeney todd!!! hahaha so much for christmas cheer yea! but it was a good movie la i think huiying and jiale agreed right! though they were so reluctant at first. then we went down for dinner! huiying's parents were having a party so we had nice catered food yea. We just had fun playing asshole taidee, poking fun at huiying and her prospective rjc bf, haha just alot of rubbish.
Once it was christmas day we all wore santa hats and went to the playground to play sparklers! haha we are mad! :D It was alot of fun though! imagine a peaceful neighbourhood in the wee hours of the morning, then a crazy bunch of people jumping at the cue of a countdown timer. haha siao! =]
went back to huiying's house, watched freaky friday, ate, watched moulin rouge then everybody fell asleep and a few people watched friends. i really enjoyed the night. what a way to spend the first few hours of christmas man! love this warm feeling. =]
And today service in church was good. =] Thank you all who gave me cards and presents. really really appreciate it. Its a warm fuzzy feeling reading all the lovely cards!
Stayed back and hanged around after church. havent had such a big gathering of youths in so long, where everybody just sat at the steps eating talking and having fun =]] we then all went into the board room and played werewolf! haha its a comforting feeling seeing everybody having so much fun together. woohoo i kinda miss those days.

It was a horrible day, nvrmind.
Making Christmas cards cheered me up! :) because my brother was with me too.
he was cutting potatoes and using them as stamps. haha how kindergarten! =] but his cards turned out very cute =] I was spamming glitter and now my floor is glittering! =]
I hope tmr will be a better day. my bro and I decided to make a pact and wake up at 6 to go running. hahahaha i wonder if that will really happen :O
